Sheltering your investment

Why do AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel™ rely on Fibrebond? Because protecting their network means better call quality, less downtime and reduced maintenance budgets. Fibrebond equipment shelters offer a number of benefits that translate to cost savings, time savings and safer working conditions for field technicians. Consider the distinct advantages of concrete equipment shelters:

  • Reconfigure equipment without adding additional cabinets
  • Upgrade networks without renegotiating land leases, installing foundations, or changing site footprints
  • Protect equipment from temperature fluctuation, severe weather, vandalism and theft
  • Support field engineers by providing a safe, secure, climate-controlled working environment

When considering the total cost of ownership, concrete shelters are the most cost-effective solution.

Helping Our Customers Meet Build-Out Challenges
During the fall of 2007, one of Fibrebond’s largest customers needed 125 equipment shelters to expand coverage in four different market areas. The contract was coordinated through the national corporate office, with input from all of the affected regions. Each of the 11’6” x 20’ shelters was engineered to customer specifications using eight standard building designs and 20 non-standard designs, all with two-hour fire ratings. By maximizing its manufacturing efficiencies, Fibrebond was able to manufacture the 125 shelters in less than 90 days, in addition to 63 shelters that were previously constructed and awaiting site assignments, for a total of 186 shelters shipped. Fibrebond met the challenges of time, engineering and multi-state code compliance and delivered the project on time.
