Interlocking Steel

Protective Equipment Enclosures Using Galvanized or Stainless Steel

Interlocking Steel Panels

Fibrebond utilizes a g90 galvanized sheet metal, rather than a CS grade steel, to form our interlocking steel panel designs. Panels are pre-formed on our 20’ sheer and press brake and are typically 16” wide. Panels connect to form a vertical structure “stud” at the seam, and walls and the roof are then affixed with a combination of welds and screws. Building aesthetics are enhanced with the use of flashings and trims. Single-piece buildings can be constructed up to 23’ x 70’.

Design & Customization

Interlocking steel enclosures can be designed using painted galvanized steel or non-painted stainless steel. Walls can be modified to accommodate wall or roof openings. Each wall, roof and ceiling panel is pre-planned to streamline and expedite the production process. Our other design options include:

  • 2-hour fire rated designs
  • Multi-room / Multi-mod
  • Kitchen or bathroom
  • Computer floor at 250 psf
  • Equipment as the exterior wall
  • Conduits in the base frame
  • Split level roof

Paint Options & Cleaning Standards

When using a painted galvanized steel, customers have multiple paint options, including satin, flat or high-gloss finishes. Prior to painting, steel panels are wiped down a solvent and then sanded with an 80 grit sandpaper. Panels are wiped down a second time before paint is applied and allowed to cure for 24 hours. Base frames undergo a more extensive cleaning process before paint is applied.
